Pav.5 Health Teachings at NCMH

The National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) is a special training and research hospital mandated to render a comprehensive (preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative) range of quality mental health services. National Center for Mental Health is committed to provide the safest and highest quality care to psychiatric patients.
To support the institution’s mission-vision, Pavilion V is conducting different programs and patient’s activities that are surely beneficial to our clients.
To continually refine the care that we provide, one of our activities is to conduct health teachings on different health topics. Health teaching is an essential component to give emphasis on health promotion and health maintenance. This may also serve as a valuable aid to promote personal growth, maximize level of functioning and geared toward enhancing the quality of life. Health teachings also help our patients deal with situations of extreme stress, anxiety, depression or other emotional disturbances, to lessen the impact of mental, emotional as well as physical problems that will lead to a more complex situation.
The content of this activity reflects our dedication, commitment and compassion to attend the needs of our psychiatric patients. Discussions on different health topics have been included. We provide health teachings to help modify their behavior, understand and apply it to their daily living.
A knowledge of the principles on health topics discussed are important to provide an opportunity to our psychiatric patients to improve their way of living, be free from infections and physical illness, live in accordance to what is acceptable in the community, uplift their self-esteem, and most of all, is to gain their confidence to themselves.
